Hi, I was wondering what you guys usually get for your average MPG in your 1991-96 Town Cars. I am considering trading in my 92 Sedan deVille for a Town Car and i want to know if you guys average anything better than my 15MPG with about 75% city driving, and an 18 year old behind the wheel. Thanks!

I have a '97 Town Car with the 4.6 engine and my driving is approximately 50/50 between highway and city and I average between 18 and 19 mpg. Of course I don't have an 18 year old either. I would imagine that would change the equation considerably.

My wife's '99 T/C with the same engine gets around 20 and her driving is more city than mine. Go figure.

I have two 1991 town car with the 4.6 motor. Both cars get about 18.5 mpg around town, and about 27-28 mpg on the highway. I have 3.27 gears in both cars. But, when either of my sons borrows the cars, the mileage drops considerably. dry.gif

I've gotten about 25.5 mpg R/T bet Detroit & Fort Lauderdale (over 5,600 miles total), usually at 5 mph over the speed limt (typically 70 - 75 mph). I get about 19 mpg around town (typically 45 - 50 mph & timed traffic lights).

5600 miles: That's 2 trips

I owned a 1996 Crown Victoria for several years, which is basically the same car underneath (same frame, suspension, engine, transmission, rear end, etc) as a Town Car. I usually averaged about 26-28 mpg highway and about 20-21 mpg around town. Mixed driving was usually about 23 mpg.

I drive my 96 LTC highway 100 mi rd trip 5 days and 2 days around town and get 22-23 consistently.
