So I feel that I got lucky with a 2000 LSV8 with 42,000 miles driven by a little old lady on the highway. She claims to have seen about 27 mpg going from Denver to Grand Junction and back (for those that don't know this goes across the continental divide and through the famous Eisenhower tunnel and steep grades at high altitude). Evidently the tires are good and it comes with a near new set of studded snow tires.
So with that said, are there things / common issues I should look for. I'm one of these guys that does his own mechanics and have been driving the same 1995 XLT Explorer since 2001 and 65,000 miles and now has 190K all original.
I don't travel to Denver until December to pick it up.
