LS -vs- LS1 GTO Video
Yeah, the fella did not drive that GTO to its potential. I didn't see how old he was.
I apparently met his friend not long ago and the friend told me it was an LS2 GTO. I think the friend was mistaken because it had the rear exhaust and hood of the LS1 GTO's from what I remember. The guy did say that his friend was surprised when he seen an LS pulling on him like that. That guy would have been more surprised had I actually been driving the LS to its potential that day. It just goes to show the the driver mod counts for allot in dragracing.

Yep, the GTO's have good power, but just cannot put it down to the track with all but the most skilled drivers. I usually see the LS1's going high 13's to low 14's and the LS2's going low to mid 13's at the track. With a proper driver and some good tires the LS1 goats will be mid 13 second cars and the LS2 goats will break 12's.

i have a 04 gto and i can sure tell you stock for stock a lincoln ls hasn't out ran me at the track. my 04 is just alittle slower than a stock o5-06. my 04 is 6sp. heck if i put on a 100 shot i could touch 12's easy. you guy's are right about one thing the gto's are very hard to drive from a dig. the lsd it just does not put enough to the ground like most of the other cars.

Who said that stock for stock an LS could outrun a GTO??? My LS had bolt-ons which was why it was running those times. Then when I threw the 100 shot on it was pulling low 13's at close to 107mph with terrible traction. With proper traction it would have hit 12's with the nitrous. Oh well, too bad the nitrous is off now.................
and the turbo is on! With the turbo I expect solid 12's out of the car while still being a reliable DD.
