Hey All:

The high mount brake light bulbs in my '98 Continental are out and I can't figure out how to get at them to replace them. I can't see taking this to a dealer or a shop and paying all that jack to do what should be a simple task. I've tried from both inside the trunk and inside the cabin but no joy. It seems like that faux subwoofer hump inside the cabin ought to come out some way, but so far it's punked me. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanx in advance.

This one is quite easy actually, good 4 you as you will see how easy it is. The bulb is actually placed in a small holder that clips in from the trunk; you have to pop the trunk, climb in, look up at the area where the light is and you will find a small white box that clips in, literally, you unclip the small box and BAM, there is the bulb. Use your fingers and unclip the box by grasping the sides, pop it out, pop out the bulb, put in the new bulb and slide it back in it's spot.
I hope this helps cause I had to find out on my own. Good luck.

Thanx for the tip. Now that I know that's the correct way I'll have to try it again. I did try that but I'm a little nearsighted and I couldn't get my eyeballs and glasses (trifocals) in the right position to really see what I was doing through the smallish openings. I'll have to wait for it to warm up again; it's 4 degrees F today.
