Brand new brake caliper...still sticky brakes..HELP!

I posted a while ago about a sticking brake caliper on my 84 towncar. I had gotten a brand new front right caliper, bled the system, always had it topped off with fluid, and checked the pads all around. Everything is good,no leaks or anything.

But it always seems to stick whenever I'm coming to a complete stop. Not when I'm slowing down with the pedal applied. And it locks up a bit before un-sticking itself after a second or so..

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

BTW, the brake system is in perfect working order, new master cylinder, brake booster, front right caliper. No leaks, but it still sticks....

98 mark 8 shifting issues

My 98 Mark 8 shifts great when first cold. Within approx. a mile or so,2/3 shift becomes slow and lazy then shifts into OD right away. It will downshift fine. The fluid is full with no burnt smell.
Any ideas. There is 77000 miles on the car. I talked with the last owner and he told me he had it changed at about 33000 miles.
Thanks,

GT40 Intake install

Hey guys,
Ok, so does anyone have ONE link that can show me a step by step walk through of a gt40 intake install. I have been searching the net for the last 3 weeks but no forum has given me a confident enough answer for all of my concerns.
Heres the exact situation
Im putting a 302 from a 86 into a 88 TC. Restoring the 88 and wanted a fresh motor for it. I wanted to add a little bit more grunt to the motor, but most importantly have a bullet proof motor. I purchased shorth exhaust headers for it and am doing a dual exhaust on the car. I went to the net to see what "bolt on" uprgades I could do on my budget. Everywhere I looked. GT40 intake swap. I lucked out and found one from an Explorer and am now scratching my head, trying to figure it out. The stock lower intake has a hose on the rear driver side that Im pretty sure goes to the Throttle body. Im well aware I need to drill a hole by the #5 runner, just wasn't prepared for this. I can't find any answers for what that hose does and why the GT40 intake does not have it. Anyone got a solution? I've also noticed the fuel rails are flipped 180 on the lower intake when comparing the stock to gt40. If anyone has any tips, advice or a site with all the answers (don't mind learning on my own), please let me know. I have this brand new motor sitting...just waiting to be lowered in. Oh and if there are any little difference btw the 86 & 88 chassis for the motor swap...any extra tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks anyone and everyone!

Just bought a 2010 with about 20,000 miles on it. Love the car and how it drives. My one complaint is I feel a vibration in the gas pedal at times when accelerating. Brought it back to the dealer who checked it out and said everything is fine. I saw there was a TSB on this back in 08 but haven't heard any complaints on the 10. My previous car was an Accord so I think I just need to get use to how the car drives., but was wondering if anyone else has experienced a similar situation.

New type of suspension or lift kit? 95 town car on 22's

I own a 95 lincoln town car. I am converting this car into a full blown show car. I recently purchased 22's. I have stock airbags in the back and stock front. I have plenty of clearance in back, but I am getting a little rubbing from the front right fender. The left front doesnt rub as much as the right. I have been doing research on what I could possibly do to prevent said rubbing in front. One solution ive found is I get heavy duty springs and shocks in place of air ride system. Or two I get a lift kit and lift it anyware from 1 to 3 inches. Basically I would like to know what the best and route to go would be? would heavy duty shocks in front prevent fender rubbing, or should I just buy a lift kit?

New town - new car...

Hi everyone. We will shortly be leaving our current assignment in the UK to return once again to Southern California. Spent 5 years there previously and had a 2001 Navigator which I loved. More to the point the wife loved it and wants no other car when we return. Spent the last 2 years driving P38 Range Rovers which I have grown to love and will miss them greatly. That said I never found myself underneath the Navigator whereas it was a weekly event on the Rangie. I joined the forum to try and get a heads up on the common issues on the newer models so i am better prepared come May when it is time to spend the cash. Looking forward to some good research.

New in this forum. '72 mark IV blower resistor (climate control) wanted

Hi all,

I´m new in this forum. I think it´s a great help for the classic Lincoln owners trying to restore their cars, sometimes a difficult task due to problems to find some parts.

My friend has recently bought a '72 Mark IV. He is the third owner of a unit exported directly to Spain in 1972. It´s one of the few mark IVs without opera windows. It´s in very good condition, always garaged and interior like new. Drives like a dream smoothly and amazingly powerful for its weight. Another friend and me are helping him to solve some problems: It needs a lifter adjustment to get a smooth idle (not difficult), fixing the "Sure-track" ABS (now disabled, as it does not work properly sometimes), a new heater core (we have it ready to install) and... This is what we can not find: The resistor controlling the blower speed in the climate control. My friend, who has helped it down, says it has some electronic component also. We have been trying to find a new one (or used in good condition) but we haven´t been lucky so far.

Could anyone tell me the name of this part? (I´ve been told it´s only used in climate control equipped units)... And more helpful: Could anyone tell me where can we find it? It seems it´s harder finding some parts for classic Lincolns than for other american classic cars.

Any help would be much appreciated. Below you can see some pics of the car.

97 Continental a/c question

The a/c was ice cold until one day it wasn't. I hooked up guages to the a/c and they looked fine. I heard a clicking in the dash. It was an actuator I found behind the ashtray. I think it is probably the blend door actuator and seemed to be having trouble moving the lever it attaches to. I have attached a spring to the lever to keep it in the position the actuator was trying to put it in. The air blows cool now but not as cold as it was. I did notice that the ducts under the dash were hot like the heater was on.

Is there another valve, door or actuator I should look for and check? Any help would be appreciated.

Hey everyone. I unfortunately had to sell my 2005 Lincoln Aviator to help pay for my wedding coming up. The vehicle is gone, but I have 4, 22" Chrome GenX Matrix Wheels mounted to 4 Toyo Proxes S/T 265/40R22 Tires, complete with 4 center caps and locking lug nuts. The tires and rims were bought together from an authorized GenX and Toyo dealer and were only driven in the months of June, July, and August and then stored in a heated storage closet during the other 9 months. These tires and wheels have less than 12,000 miles on them and are in incredible condition. These have never seen a car wash, only professional detailing. Please keep in mind that these wheels will only fit 2003-2005 Ford Explorers and Lincoln Aviators, Navigators or any vehicle with the same bolt patterns. Please see the pictures and pm me with any questions, etc. Price is $1700 + $250 for shipping (48 states). Total retail value of wheels and tires were over $4,000. My loss is your gain.
