Hard shift into Drive
ANother questions for ya'll:
What would cause my trans to slam into drive from neutral? Sometimes, on light acceleration, it'll slam into second gear. AllData syas it could be a bunch of different things.
Any ideas on what to start checking out? Thanks guys.

How often should the air pump come on?
OK guys, I looked through the forums and I haven't really seen a straight answer for this so here goes:
How often should the compressor come on to fill the air bag suspension?
Mine kicks on for 15 seconds at startup and comes on statically during a normal 15 to 20 minute drive. It seems like it's coming on a little too often.
We left the car in a garage for 2 weeks and the front end was slammed and the rear end was low but not all the way down. I noticed that the rear end tends to get a little lower over the period of one night. I just replaced the front passenger side bag and the other 3 are about 7 years old. The pump is original I think. Thanks all!

Tire question again (All Season): What are you running on your LS8 and do they perform well?
We have a 2004 LS V8 and will need to replace the Michelin MXM tires (OEM) with a set of good all season tires.
We do have snow tires for the core winter months so these would have to do well in dry/wet weather and have decent light snow handling in early/late winter snow if the snow tires are not on the car yet or have been taken off.
What are you all running and what do you like about them. Looking for good dry/wet handling and nice ride quality - nice ride, good road manners on straightline, braking, decent cornering, low road noise, tire wear (I'm guessing V, W, or Z rated), etc. I think the OEM Michelins were V or W rated?
Also, I assume it's OK to run 245/45/17 on the stock 17 inch rims as an alternative to the 235/50/17?
I am considering the following but know that Yokohama has some decent tires also:
BFGoodrich g-Force Super Sport A/S (245/45/17) http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/f...=&fsv=false
Yokohama AVID W4S (245/45/17) http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/f...alse&cs=245

235/55R17 tires on 2005 Town Car
The dealership said to stick with the 225/60R17 tires the car's "supposed" to have.
The overall diameter is very nearly the same. But the dealership said:
* The whole 10mm of extra width would cause the tires to hit the suspension on wide turns.
* They also said "If the car has traction control it may have false abs and traction control activation. I would not recommend putting those larger tires on the car"
are these concerns real or ultracautionary BS?
I want the Goodyear Assurance TripleTred but it's not made in P225/60R17. Will need it in the S. Florida rain later this year. Michelin HydroEdge could be a good choice but it's a little more money and has only a 1-ply sidewall. Not good since I'm rough on tires (I can get REALLY close the the curb when I park). Using 1-year-old General Altimax RT now. Not bad at all. Will consider keeping those if the TripleTreds are a bad idea.
Thanks.
